Right from the introduction I was hooked. You always know how to get the reader to keep reading. You use such descriptive words and make things seem to suspensful that you can't not read it. I think that you made this seem almost misterious and that made it interesting. You didn't just go ahead and say something like, " I go to the woods in my backyard when I am upset;" you decided to make it something larger than it really was. I thought you did an amazing job on this Maddie, you're a great writer(:

Maddie, your writing is so true. You explained perfectly what Dr. Michael Fowlin did but in a much shorter way. I liked the words you used, like raw; it shows that it was true stuff that he talked about. I agree with you that he didn't hold back at all but it was a good thing. It really made his assembly stand out and make kids realize how harsh and cruel we are to one another and the impact it has. Your writing was so nicely wrote and explained things so easily that although the assembly was months ago, I got a clear picture in my mind of it all over again. I enjoyed your writing a lot and nice work Maddie(:

hi maddie i think this is a great writing piece. I think without a routine when you have school or work, you will be lost. I also think it would be okay if you didnt have a routine i nthe summer or on weedends. But, i think when adults work throughout the year, and have the same routine every day, there life will be boring and the same. When you get older i think that you should have a routine but not as strictly as the one when your younger.

You are right, routines dry up your life. Its like the cycle of seasons, nothing changes, its just the same and repeats itself over and over. That would truly be a boring life. But when you're younger, routines are important. I need some sort of routine to get anything done. I need a schedule or something to keep my life straight. Most people do, but hopefully not for too long if they really want to live life.

I agree with you routines can get really boring to the point where ou are just tired with your life with what you do. But i also think that routines are good they can get your life back on track it you lost it for a while and they really can help you get better grades so it is half and half for me. but really good job A+ :D

I Actually laughed when i read this because this is all completly true. your ideas about routines and everyday life can describe the everyday stressed out american. In a total, the best answer is to have a small routine because if youll end up being stressed out and heartless as you enjoy your coffe as your car sits in a highway.

I agree that routines take the flare away from everything you do. What is there to live for if you do the same exact thing everyday? Life would get extremely boring and there wouldnt be anything to look forward to or get excited about. But some people do need routines to work out there busy scheduals. It can get pretty crazy when your an adult and there is so many things that need to be done in just a 24 hour day. Routines can help people accomplish what needs to be done. The only bad part is there is nothing fun in a routine.

hi Maddie. I agree with when you said, "most of us wouldn’t make any progress if it weren’t for our every day routines. They keep us on track; ensure we’re getting the things done that need to be done." It's so true. Once we start having a daily, weekly or monthly routine, you get hooked and well it becomes a routine. We get used to them so much that if it is thrown off by one thing, our whole day is messed up. i also agree with Shanna's opinion on how they keep us busy. i agree with you on how you said that they can get dried out and get old; but i think that it depends on what the routine is. if it is something like going to dance ever Thursday, that could be fun and you would get used to it but if it's something like getting up at 6:30 every morning for school, that gets old quickly. i agree with you on how you said that they don't allow room for mistakes which sometimes is fine but not always. You need to have mistakes in your life to learn from. But i very much agree on how you said that it can prevent you from exploring. You need to try new things once and a while but if you are always following your routine and not trying something new, then you'll get sick of your life much quicker. nice job maddie!

I agree with you Maddie about routines and how they can get boring but I think you need an equal amount of free time and routine. Your always going to have some free time during the day. It could be for 15 minutes or even 10 or 5 but thats OK because you can do what want in those minutes of free time and relax and have fun. Think of it this way. You have to do what you need to do so that you can do what you want to do.

First Maddie this is really good. Your grabber is great!
Second I agree more with Olivia. I think that routines can help, but you need some diversity in your life. I am bored with my routine of just going to my classes everyday, and that is barely a routine. In life I would rather have a job that is different each day, rather than the same.
